Hon’ble Mr. Justice Joymalya Bagchi, Born in Kolkata on 03rd October, 1966. Did LL.B. from Calcutta University. Enrolled as an advocate in 1991. Practised law at the Calcutta High Court, other High Courts and the Supreme Court of India specializing in criminal and constitutional law. Appointed as a permanent Judge of the Calcutta High Court in 2011. Transferred to Andhra Pradesh High Court on 04th January, 2021 and repatriated to the Calcutta High Court on 08th November, 2021. Elevated as a Judge, Supreme Court of India on 17th March, 2025. Due to retire on 02nd October, 2031.

Hon’ble Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla is the senior-most Puisne Justice of the Supreme Court of Nepal, elevated directly from the Bar in 2016. A former member of the UN Committee Against Torture and Nepal’s Constituent Assembly, she holds advanced degrees from Delhi University and Harvard. Her legal career spans groundbreaking advocacy for women’s rights, privacy, and post-conflict justice. On the bench, she has shaped constitutional and environmental jurisprudence by pioneering an ecocentric approach—recognizing nature's intrinsic rights—and applying the "appreciable harm" principle to balance development with conservation. Key decisions include protecting Phewa Lake, managing Mt. Everest waste, and safeguarding Bardiya National Park. Beyond adjudication, she serves on the Judicial Council of Nepal and leads judicial reform, mediation, and gender inclusion initiatives.

Justice Nambitha Dambuza is an Acting Justice of the Constitutional Court of South Africa. Prior to this role, Her Lordship served on the Supreme Court of Appeal from 2015 to 2024 and was previously a judge of the High Court (Eastern Cape Division) and the Competition Appeal Court. Before joining the judiciary, Her Lorsdhip practiced as an attorney for twelve years. A dedicated judicial educator, Justice Dambuza has served on the council of the South African Judicial Education Institute (SAJEI) and convened the New Judges Orientation Seminar. Specializes in Environmental and Constitutional Law, previously chairing the Africa Judicial Education Network on Environmental Law (AJENEL) and serving on the Global Judicial Network on Environmental Law. Other roles include Chair of the Rules Board for Courts of Law, member of the Judicial Conduct Committee, council member of Nelson Mandela University, and visiting professor at Rhodes University.

Senior Advocate Shyam Divan is an eminent Supreme Court of India practitioner specializing in Constitutional, Environmental, Civil, Arbitration, and Administrative Law. The son of late constitutional expert Anil Divan, he holds key leadership roles, including Vice President of the Bar Association of India and LAWASIA. He is widely recognized for arguing landmark Supreme Court cases, including Puttaswamy (Right to Privacy and Aadhaar), Navtej Singh Johar (decriminalization of homosexuality), Jindal Stainless, and Abhiram Singh. Additionally, Mr. Divan has served as Amicus Curiae in major public interest litigation, such as the Bellary mining case. A distinguished scholar, he co-authored Environmental Law and Policy in India and serves as Patron for the CAN Foundation.

Dr Philippe Cullet is Professor of international and environmental law at SOAS University of London and Visiting Professor at the National Law University Delhi (NLUD). His work focuses in particular on environmental, natural resources and water law. His is the co-editor of Philippe Cullet, Lovleen Bhullar & Sujith Koonan eds, The Oxford Handbook of Environmental and Natural Resources Law in India (Oxford University Press, 2024). He was a member of the Government of India, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation’s Committee drafting the Draft National Water Framework Bill, 2016. He is currently the CoChair of the Rights of Nature Committee of International Law Association.

Dr. Balakrishna Pisupati is an international environmental policy expert and genericist specializing in biodiversity, sustainable development, and environmental law. Currently serving as Head of the Biodiversity, Land and Governance Programme at UNEP in Nairobi, he provides technical and policy guidance on Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs), including the CBD, UNFCCC, and UNCCD. With over 16 years of experience, including leading IUCN's Asia Biodiversity Programme and the Biodiplomacy Programme at UNUIAS, Dr. Pisupati is a pioneer in Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS). He authored UNEP's 1998 Conceptual Framework on ABS and helped shape India’s National Biodiversity Act. A Ph.D. in Genetics and Fellow of the Linnean Society of London, he has authored 24 books and over 50 research papers on environmental governance and conservation.
